Funders

The work of Essential Skills Ontario would not be possible without the support of our funders.

Government of Canada’s Adult Learning, Literacy and Essential Skills Program, Office of Literacy and Essential Skills (OLES)

OLES is focused on improving the literacy and essential skills of adult Canadians. OLES provides expertise, project funding, and a wide range of learning tools and other resources.

Through its activities, OLES aims to help Canadians get the skills they need to:

  • get a job
  • stay in the job market
  • contribute to their communities and families

The Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU)
MTCU is responsible for the administration of laws relating to education and skills training. MTCU operates Employment Ontario (EO), a one-stop source of information and services for students, job seekers and employers.

The Ministry also operates the Employment Ontario Partners Gateway, which provides support through tools, materials and information to service providers delivering Employment Ontario programs and services as part of the Employment Ontario network.

Ontario Trillium Foundation
The Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) awards approximately 1,500 grants each year to community-based not-for-profits and charitable organizations in the arts, recreation, environment and human and social services sectors. An agency of the Ontario government with a $120 million annual budget, OTF is always looking for ways to be a more effective grantmaker as well as a thought leader.
