Free Webinar: Preparing for PIAAC

In October, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) will release findings from the Programme for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC), a new international study of adult literacy, numeracy and problem-solving skills. The data from this survey will provide Canada with a unique opportunity to capture the skills portraits of our regions.

While previous OECD surveys assessed conventional literacy and numeracy skills, PIAAC is far more comprehensive in addressing the necessary problem solving skills for operating in Technology-Rich Environments (TREs) and will also provide further investigation into how workers’ skills and educational attainment levels are matched and utilized in their workplaces. The survey also examines how skills are used at work and the relationships between skills and socioeconomic outcomes.
