First in Series of PIAAC Essential Skills Bulletins Now Available for Download

The first issue of our 2013 Essential Skills Bulletin Series is now available for free download. About the Programme for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC) is the first of two bulletins that cover the highly anticipated international survey of adult literacy, numeracy and problem-solving skills. PIAAC – the results of which will be released in October 2013 – is the most comprehensive international survey of adult skills ever undertaken: 26 countries participated, including over 25,000 adults in Canada alone.

The latest bulletin:
• Introduces the survey - what it is, what it will do, and why it’s important
• Covers the new components of PIAAC, including Problem Solving in Technology-Rich Environments and the Survey of Skills Used at Work
• Talks about what PIAAC means for both Ontario and Literacy and Basic Skills (LBS) Programs
